Egum is not an orixà. Egum is the collective cultuated spirit of the African ancestors. Egum upholds behavioral and ethical standards. The mention of Egum is feared by many, including those who do not hold true to their beliefs and morals (ie: don't practice what they preach!). The Egum are ruled by the orixà Iansa.
